The present book “Libraries: Current Trends and Future Perspectives” is a festschrift volume in honour of Dr. T. D. Tilwani. Dr. Thawar Das Tilwani, born on 2nd July 1953 at Beawar (Rajasthan), had received M.Sc. Mathematics (1976), M.Lib.I.Sc & Doc. (1978), PhD. in Library & Information Science (2004) from University of Rajasthan. After serving three decades, he retired as Associate Professor and Head, Department of Library and Information Science, UCSSH, M. L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur (Rajasthan) on 31st July 2013.
The editors have put together invited papers, representing the current trends and future perspectives of the present day's libraries, from eminent information professionals and teachers. There are thirty five articles covering all aspects of modern library and information science. These articles have been categorized under the following subject wise order: Collection Development and Management, Information Storage and Retrieval, LIS Education In India, Library Automation, Digital Libraries, Institutional Repositories, Eâ€resources, Library consortium, Cloud Computing, Information Literacy, Preservation and conservation.
Along with above, fourteen brief writeâ€ups about Dr. Tilwani's life, work, social relations, help and guidance etc. carried out in the last. In this way, the book covers all the domains of knowledge in the field of library and information science which is current in nature.
